If you ask me, I think the bean looks like the space ship from the movie "Flight of the Navigator" What if it is an alien space ship made out of liquid metal like the T1000 from Terminator 2? Sure I saw them make it, They weld it together in pieces but they also had a large tarp over the scaffolds. Maybe the liquid metal separated into pieces to make it look like the were welding it & merged back together after they where together again. What better place to hide an alien space ship than in plane sight & disguised as modern art.

Thanks for the detailed/deep feedback! You can really see how Chicago would be a great backdrop for many amazing stories

wow amazing backgrounds! I knew where we were instantly!
although I would recommend in the future keeping the action moving left to right. right now you have it going from right to left, which is counter-intuitive for the reader.
Also, that sun you drew on the bean makes me sad.
But this page is really awesome and makes me interested about more to come from you!

Excellent advice, I was concentrating on telling the story top to bottom and the ship happens to come in from the right, probably would have worked better from left.
Why does the sun make you sad?
Thanks for the in depth feedback!

heh, because it's sort-of the generic sun that kids would draw if you said "Draw me a sun", no offense or anything.

ON the left, thats supposed to be the glare of the sun and not an actual reflection, although it's poorly executed. And on the right is the reflection of the smoking ship headed at the Bean.
Kinda learning as I go...

Oh nooooooo.... not the Bean... (poor Cloudgate)

(you think that's bad... some numnut thought it was a good idea to scratch their initials in the Bean, and no one stopped them... and it cost thousands of dollars to buff it out-- bastards!) Good landmark choice, even if you did use it as a landing strip! ;)

Nice shot... I would recommend putting a white "halo" around the outside of the buildings in panel three, so they don't blend into panel two as much.

Someone knows the real name :) Funny, you can't tell us Chicagoans a thing! We make it ours and we make it how we want it to be :) Like it our not... this little metal piece has brought a LOT of tourism back to our city. Of course, it's location also takes credit as well.

very nice, one thing to consider is in the third panel to have some destroyed buildings and the smoke outline is a wee bit thick you might consider backing it off. Other then that I think it looks awesome and I'll keep a watch out for your other pages!

This is amazing!

I haven't spent too much time in downtown Chicago. What's the foreground area, and the terrace/walkway/whatever where the observers are standing?

Chicago has an art piece, right out in the open in Millenium Park, that can only be described as a mirrored bean. I chose that as the crashsite. Thanks for the feedback!

Superior has always been just a "tentative" name for this character and I am aware that there is a comic coming out from Marvel/Icon by Mark Millar and Lionel Yu...Great minds think alike!!!
